Programme
EIT Climate-KIC
Objective
Lions2Life is a European project promoted by the EIT-Climate-KIC that will use lithium batteries from electric vehicles to store energy. The project focuses on shared electric mobility systems that are beginning to proliferate in our cities: scooters, bicycles and electric motorcycles, and aims to prevent waste from being generated and form part of a sustainable circular economy, where at the end of its life, batteries become part of renewable energy storage systems.
Partners
We collaborate with Paterna and Ribaroja municipalities as partners in the project, coordinated by Avaesen. Environmental entities as important as ECODOM (Italy) and Recyclia (Spain) coordinate their efforts within the project so that the reuse of batteries was a reality that can be transferred to the rest of the countries of the European Union.
Status
In progress. The Project started in June 2020 and has a duration of 18 months.
